Furthermore we show you where you can buy the suitable pouring medium.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>What is a Pouring Medium?<\/h2>\n<p>By adding a pouring medium, a thinner and therefore more flowable consistency is achieved in the acrylic paint used. Therefore, it can be seen as an essential factor to obtain a good result when using acrylic pouring.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>The Properties of a Pouring Medium at a Glance:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The viscosity (consistency) of heavy inks is reduced without simultaneously thinning the ink.<br \/>\nIt enables easy spreading of the paint on the canvas, as the color gradient is improved.<\/li>\n<li>When an acrylic pouring medium is added, the color, opacity and texture of the colors are retained; water would dilute the pigments.<\/li>\n<li>It gives you more time for the actual acrylic technique, as it prevents the colors from drying out.<br \/>\nThe slower drying process prevents cracks caused by drying too quickly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You may now wonder if you could not simply use water to dilute the paint and make it flow better. Furthermore, water, unlike a pouring medium, does not prevent the paint from drying out quickly. Sometimes there are more in the individual cells.<\/li>\n<li>The paint flow is very fast.<\/li>\n<li>Makes for very strong color gradients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Silicone Oil with High Viscosity (thick Consistency)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Forms small, sharply delineated cells.<\/li>\n<li>The paint flow is relatively slow.<\/li>\n<li>The color gradients are relatively small.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For us, the Ballistol silicone oil in the spray can has proven to be very effective. It forms many beautiful cells. These range from small to medium in size. By tilting the canvas they can even be enlarged.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Hair Oils<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Even with the addition of hair oil you can create beautiful paintings with proper cell formation. Before buying, however, you should study the list of ingredients. In the first place &#8220;Dimethicone&#8221;, a silicone additive, should be listed here. This is quite often used in cosmetic products.<\/p>\n<p>The addition of hair oil causes the formation of medium to large cells in large numbers.
